Hopefully you can see the difference in the sharp landscape vs default landscape. Same camera, same lens, same position, same aperture setting, both straight out of the camera with no processing…. so what’s the difference? I took the default shot using landscape picture style, I then went to my menu, went down to picture styles, highlighted landscape and hit “Disp”. This brought up the actual landscape settings menu, and I bumped sharpness from default to the max. This is really helpful if you are shooting in JPG mode, and trying to get more comfortable with your camera. You get better results instantly, no softer image from your XSi. Try it out and see if you like the difference. You don’t have to use the maximum sharp setting; you can play around as you want. I’d also play with contrast and bump that 1 or 2 steps to see if you prefer those images as well.

If you are shooting raw, you will want to refer to the sharpening guide for RAW.
